Dear Football--the love of my life

Football season is in full force, and it has taken over my life.
Seriously! As much as I have tried to love football, there is nothing interesting about it. Mitch thinks that if I start to like certain players, I'll start to like certain teams and then love football. So, bless his heart, he explains to me all the players and teams "we" are rooting for and why, in an effort to get me interested.
My favorite part about football is when there is 1 min and 43 seconds left...and three quarters of an hour later, the game is over.
Super sweet.
But it's not just the actual games that are incredibly interesting, because heaven forbid if there isn't a game on, there's the whole millions of shows that just talk about football. What other sport has whole channels devoted to analyze and predict and argue about what did or did not or should or shouldn't happen? I can't think of any. Why? Because it's ridiculous!
Just to give an example of how much I'm into football, tonight they showed Jerry Rice, and I honestly didn't know he was black, I think I pictured him as Steve Young? They were famous at the same time right?
Anyway, I voiced this to my husband, who will never let me live that down.
I said how am I supposed to know that? I was like in elementary school when he was king.
No Mallory, he is a living legend. He asked me what position he played.
Uhm?
It's wide receiver, apparently. Do I even know what that is?
Uh, yeah. You play wide and receive the ball. (Good thing I'm good at deductive reasoning)

Anyway, hopefully for my sake, someday I'll see the light.

So good thing I married a sweetheart, because he doesn't get too emotionally involved in the games to where I wonder who he is, and he always switches back and forth between what I want to watch and the game. And if I can have my SVU, he can have his football season :)

P.S. my birthday was the best EVER, details to come<3
