7 Months

I feel I just barely wrote Tessa's 6 month update so I don't have a whole lot to say about 7 months.

Except that I changed Tessa's name from BABY Bear to CRAZY Bear. Seriously, this girl is nuts. Everyday when I talk to Mitch on the phone I used to say "she's so cute" a lot, but now all I say is "She's crazy." She's still super cute, but most days her crazy supersedes it. I actually really love it, her personality is awesome.
  • Instead of talking and babbling now, she mostly yells and growls and roars...and spits. All day long. She's not throwing a fit or upset, she's just communicating. It makes people laugh at church and in the store. She's pretty entertaining.
  • She's spastic. Her body gets going crazy of bouncing, kicking, wailing of the arms, you name it. I love when she gets excited.
  • She likes to sleep with the blanket over her face. I have now given her a loosely knitted one to sleep with so she can breathe fresh air too.
  • She has started to throw tiny fits here and there, but those are few and far between, and they stop as suddenly as they start so..I'm not too worried about it right now. Although I can feel her wrath will start to build with time
  • She seems very apathetic about baby food. Doesn't love it, doesn't hate it. She's far more interested in the food we have. She gets so sidetracked it takes forever to pull her attention away from whatever is interesting on her baby seat every time she takes one little bite. But we're getting better. I found that singing to her usually keeps her more focused.
  • She loves other babies. She reaches out for their hands and tries hard to get away from me and attack them.
  • She's so interested in everything else, mom and dad are super boring.
  • She gets into moods where she SERIOUSLY ignores us. She won't look at us when we call her name and when we get in her view she looks the other way. My sassy bear.
  • Refuses to lay back in anything that reclines. And holds her arms straight out to the side when I put her in her carseat so she doesn't have to lay back. But I always win, because not being buckled is not an option.
  • She's super ticklish.
  • She started getting needy with her night feedings (2+ instead of just one) so we talked to the doc who said by now she can sleep through the night (music to my ears). You better believe I weened her off those feedings and she does just fine. And since we started that, she wakes up at 6am and takes the best naps ever.
  • Getting tooth #2, right next to her first on the bottom. Baby teeth are so stinkin' cute.
  • Not crawling, not even close. She doesn't seem interested either. Some days I'm okay with this (like when I remember I can set her down and she doesn't go anywhere) and some days I'm not (when I see other babies her age or younger are doing it) Not that it matters what I think, she'll do it when she's ready. P.S. I ALWAYS have dreams that she skipped crawling and just starts walking.
We clearly adore this girl.

Stats for 6 months and 21 days old:
15.43 lbs (27th percentile)
25.5 in (18th percentile)
16.5 HC (29th percentile)

I finally caught her bum dance on video, although this isn't nearly as awesome as when she's really into it
